It is with great pride and warm, Italian hospitality that we invite you to be our guest at "Reggello Farmhouse". Tucked away in the rolling Tuscan countryside above the lush, Arno River valley, the picturesque views from our 16th century farmhouse estate are reminiscent of a Renaissance painting. When you need a vacation within a vacation, a bit of peace from the crowds, lines and commotion of city life, our hilltop escape is waiting, and has been for over 400 years.
Situated at the midpoint of Tuscany's treasures, Reggello Farmhouse is an ideal base for touring this spectacular region. The residence is under an hour's drive from Florence, Arezzo, and the wine country of Greve in Chianti; and a half hour from Figline, Pontassieve, pristine Vallombrosa Natural Reserve Park, and the connecting motorway to Siena. We are precisely located near the characteristic village of San Donato in Fronzano, where guests can explore neighborhood shops and engage in local life, just 5km from the larger town of Regello, home to Italian, luxury brand shopping outlet, "The Mall".
Dating back to 1592, Reggello's villa lies atop a private, 18-acre estate that has remained relatively untouched and exceptionally well preserved over the centuries. The recently constructed outbuilding apartments have been carefully reproduced in the style of the original manor, emulating its terracotta-tiled floors; sweeping archways; vaulted, wooden-beam ceilings; and distinguishing, exterior stone walls. All apartments accommodations have private or shared terraces looking out onto stunning, sloping green hills, trademark cypress trees and interlacing vineyards; and have been decorated in charming, rustic style, adorned with meticulously restored antiques. Most also have a view of the olive-tree lined pool, with terracotta sunning patio and romantic gazebo. No stay in the Tuscan countryside, the birthplace of the region's most famous wine and cuisine, would be complete without a little culinary indulgence. The chefs at our onsite Ristorante/Pizzeria serve up typical dishes from Bistecca Fiorentina to wood-oven pizza, using fresh produce, local ingredients, and special products of our own production.
The Villa is our largest accommodation, a bona fide, 180m2 country manor from the 16th century; the residence's birth date, 1592, was carved into part of the ancient structure over 400 years ago. We've done our best to preserve and enhance this truly unique vacation home's rich history. The entryway looks onto a fully-equipped kitchen, featuring a sink done in Italian Pietra Serena sandstone, and complete with refrigerator, oven and stove. Guests can enjoy ample space in the dining room, with 10 spots at the elongated table, in addition to a couch and rocking chairs. The sitting room boasts a spectacular, functioning, open fireplace, and a windowed door onto the giant, terracotta-tiled terrace with captivating, panoramic views. High archways lead from the spacious living room to a second floor with three bedrooms: two matrimonial and one with a pair of double beds, each with old-fashioned, high headboards and accompanying marble-plated furniture. The colossal bathroom spotlights an extended vanity area, and extra-wide shower with bathtub. The entire villa has original, wooden-beam ceilings and is entirely furnished in restored antiques, including special pieces like a grand piano and vintage Louis Vuitton chest.
